NEW!  Bilingual Clinic Data Clerk - Marshalltown

 

Join our health services team and make a difference in the lives of families and children.  In this full time position you will staff WIC and Maternal/Child Health clinics and office, schedule appointments, complete intake information, determine income eligibility, issue WIC EBT cards, enter data, and perform other clerical and receptionist duties. Use your bilingual (English/Spanish) skills to provide services to non-English speaking families.  This position regularly travels with clinic teams to alternative worksites.  Full-time position, 40 hours per week, $11.63 per hour, with an excellent benefit package. 

Required:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience or training in basic computer skills

  • Ability to read, write and speak English; able to speak Spanish

Breastfeeding Peer Counselor - Ames or Marshalltown,  IA

 

Are you passionate about breastfeeding?  Do you enjoy sharing your personal breastfeeding experiences with other moms?  Then this may be the perfect job for you! 

 

Join the WIC team as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor and provide basic breastfeeding information, support and encouragement to new mothers.  Counsel pregnant and breastfeeding WIC mothers at the WIC clinic during scheduled clinic hours, and by phone, email, text outside of usual clinic hours.  Educate mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding, overcoming common barriers, and getting a good start with breastfeeding.  You will provide services to WIC participants in seven counties in central Iowa.   Casual, on call position, averaging approximately 12 hours per week, $13.00 per hour. 

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Personal breastfeeding experience

  • A current or former WIC participant (in any state)

 

Preferred:  Ability to read, write and speak Spanish

NEW!  Dental Hygienist - Ames ,  IA

 

We have an immediate need for a licensed dental hygienist to temporarily fill in for our regular dental hygienist at our busy Story County Dental Clinic in Ames.  Currently needed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.   Clinic is open Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

Position could continue on an as-needed basis when regular hygienist returns to full-time.   $30.49 per hour.

Required:

  • Two year or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene

  • Current Iowa Dental Hygienist License

Life Skills Instructors - Central Iowa

 

Casual position working with adolescents who have been referred to the program via local school districts and the juvenile court system in the 2nd Judicial District.  Responsible for instructing adolescents in life skills classes using established curriculum.  Required to use own vehicle to transport caseload adolescents to class as needed.  This is a casual position that requires week day, evening and weekend hours (depending on the referral source for the class).   Work hours are negotiated with supervisor, school districts and assigned juvenile court officers (JCOs). The person in this position works out of his/her own home and is responsible for providing his/her own computer, cell phone and any other electronic equipment used in the performance of this job, including but not limited to internet connectivity. 

 

Casual position, hours as needed, as negotiated with supervisor, school districts and assigned Juvenile Court Officers (JCOs).  This is NOT a full-time position.  $17.50 per hour. 

 

One position is available in each of the two designated sections of the 2nd Judicial District listed below.  Instructors should reside within/nearby  the area to be served.

 

Section 1: Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Mitchell, Worth, Winnebago and Wright counties. 

Section 2: Calhoun, Hamilton, Hardin, Humboldt, Pocahontas and Webster counties.

 

Required:  Associate’s degree in human services, youth programs, juvenile justice or similar field OR college coursework considered equivalent to an associate’s degree in human services, youth programs, juvenile justice or similar field.

Classroom Substitutes – Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek, Story and Tama Counties, IA

Family Development Assistants - Ames, Grinnell, Iowa Falls, Marshalltown and Tama, IA

 

Seeking individuals with great customer service skills to join the team at our Family Development Centers in our five county service area.  This is casual position, working as-needed to fill in for regular staff when they are out of the office.  The assistant will assist families to apply for resources, program services, and work with them to resolve crisis situations.  Strong communication skills and the ability to learn and effectively use a variety of computing software and databases is required. 

Candidates who can work in multiple counties are preferred.  This is a casual position working as needed.  This is not a full time position.  $9.74 per hour.

Required:  High School diploma or equivalent

Interpreter (English/Burmese Languages) - Marshalltown,  IA

 

We are looking for interpreters to help us provide services and support to refugees from Burma.  You must be able to read and speak English, and read and speak either Chin, Karen, Karenni, Rakhine or Zomi with levels of fluency to provide effective oral interpretation.  Duties include providing oral interpretation of discussions into English and at least one of listed languages, maintaining content, context and style as much as possible.  May perform duties in family homes, group meetings or classrooms.  This is a casual position, working hours as needed.  This is not a full-time position.  $15.00 per hour. 

Required: 

  • High school diploma or GED/HiSET

  • Demonstrated level of proficiency in reading and speaking the English and either Chin, Karen, Karenni, Rakhine or Zomi languages in order to provide oral interpretation

Tracker  - Story County, IA
