Facilities Manager - Marshalltown, IA

 

This full-time position provides oversight to and/or performs the maintenance and compliance needs for all property owned by MICA.  Performs maintenance and compliance needs for Head Start playgrounds and Head Start sites.  Coordinates snow removal and lawn mowing.  Assists with the inventory of supplies, property, furniture, fixtures, etc. owned by MICA.  Schedules servicing of agency owned vehicles.  Provides oversight to and/or performs the maintenance and compliance tasks for all MICA owned property.  Other job duties include:

 

  • Assists in securing subcontractors, receiving bids, purchasing items used in facilities maintenance. 

  • Performs Head Start required licensing tests and facility safety checks. 

  • Coordinates building renovations and repairs.

 

Full-time hourly position, 40 hours per week, with an excellent benefit package.  $17.50 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience.   Occasional overtime required.

CACFP Program Specialist - Ames, IA

 

We’re seeking someone with excellent communication skills and an interest in child nutrition to join the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) team at our Family Development Center in Ames.  Completes home visits, paperwork and reports as required by the Coordinator.  Recruits new participants for the program and provides support to enrolled home child care providers.  Assists with development of education material and implementation of provider workshops.  Assists with the development of children’s educational activities that focus on proper sanitation, making healthy food choices and the importance of being physically active.  Audits monthly menus, attendance records and claims. 

 

This position requires frequent driving about the ten county program service area.  (Would consider telecommuting for candidate from Kossuth, Pocahontas Humboldt or Wright County to cover northern counties.)  Part-time position, 20 hours per week at $15.91 per hour.

NEW!  Summer Learning Coordinator - Marshalltown, IA

 

Join our summer learning team and make a difference in lives of children ages 3 to 12!   Provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for children participating in the summer learning program.  The summer learning coordinator works with assigned building principals to recruit and enroll students.  Provides oversight and leadership to the summer learning team at assigned school, including supervision of staff and responsibility for achieving and maintaining establish educational thresholds of participants.

NEW!  Bilingual (English/Spanish) Tracker  - Humboldt & Wright Counties, IA

 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with youth in Humboldt and Wright Counties.   The tracker works with adolescents who have been referred to the juvenile court system.  Responsibilities include supervising and monitoring adolescents in a variety of activities, including recreational, home, educational, treatment and community service.  Uses bilingual skills in English and Spanish to provide services to non-English speaking families as needed and as approved by the Human Resources department.  The tracker is required to use his/her own vehicle to transport enrolled adolescents to activities as needed.  This is a casual position that includes evenings and weekends.  The tracker works from home and is responsible for providing his/her own computer, cell phone and any other electronic equipment used in the performance of this job, including but not limited to internet connectivity.

Seeking individuals with great customer service skills to join the team at our Family Development Centers in our five county service area.  This is casual position, working as-needed to fill in for regular staff when they are out of the office.  The assistant will assist families to apply for resources, program services, and work with them to resolve crisis situations.  Strong communication skills and the ability to learn and effectively use a variety of computing software and databases is required. 

Candidates who can work in multiple counties are preferred.  This is a casual position working as needed.  This is not a full time position.  $9.74 per hour.

Life Skills Instructors - Central Iowa

 

Casual position working with adolescents who have been referred to the program via local school districts and the juvenile court system in the 2nd Judicial District.  Responsible for instructing adolescents in life skills classes using established curriculum.  Required to use own vehicle to transport caseload adolescents to class as needed.  This is a casual position that requires week day, evening and weekend hours (depending on the referral source for the class).   Work hours are negotiated with supervisor, school districts and assigned juvenile court officers (JCOs). The person in this position works out of his/her own home and is responsible for providing his/her own computer, cell phone and any other electronic equipment used in the performance of this job, including but not limited to internet connectivity. 

 

Casual position, hours as needed, as negotiated with supervisor, school districts and assigned Juvenile Court Officers (JCOs).  This is NOT a full-time position.  $17.50 per hour. 

 

One position is available in each of the two designated sections of the 2nd Judicial District listed below.  Instructors should reside within/nearby  the area to be served.

 

Section 1: Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Mitchell, Worth, Winnebago and Wright counties.

Interpreter (English/Burmese Languages) - Marshalltown,  IA

 

We are looking for interpreters to help us provide services and support to refugees from Burma.  You must be able to read and speak English, and read and speak either Chin, Karen, Karenni, Rakhine or Zomi with levels of fluency to provide effective oral interpretation.  Duties include providing oral interpretation of discussions into English and at least one of listed languages, maintaining content, context and style as much as possible.  May perform duties in family homes, group meetings or classrooms.  This is a casual position, working hours as needed.  This is not a full-time position.  $15.00 per hour.

We have a need for a licensed dental hygienist to work on an as needed basis at our busy Story County Dental Clinic in Ames.  Clinic is open Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Casual position, working an as-needed basis to fill in for dental hygienist, $30.49 per hour.

Required:
