Iowa Falls Early Head Start Lead Teacher

 

Full-time position responsible for planning and implementing classroom activities in the Iowa Falls Toddler Room.

Program Specialist - Marshall/Poweshiek/Tama Counties

 

Full time bilingual (English/Spanish) position for the period of the grant, which is October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2014. This position is responsible for facilitating the activities of a comprehensive fatherhood program to low-income families around the issues of responsible parenting and healthy marriage.  Serves as a content expert in fatherhood and positive relationship curricula.  Provides leadership and facilitates learning and discussion for groups of participants.  Maintains program compliance and accurate records. Collaborates with other agencies.

 

Extensive travel will be required, as this project will operate in three counties:  Marshall, Poweshiek and Tama.  The office for this position will be located in Marshalltown at MICA's Central Office.

 

·        Bachelor's degree in family/human services or closely related field

·        Current MICA employee with two years of experience in related field

Child Health Coordinator - Marshalltown

 

Coordinates Child Health and Early Access programs in a five- county service area; identifies plans and provides for Child Health needs in a five-county geographic area; provides services as Community Health professional. In addition, provide services to children ages 0-3 who either experience a 25% or more delay in one or more areas of development, or have a high probability of later delay due to a known or other condition. 

 

Job Requirements:

·         Knowledge of theory, techniques, and practices of Public Health programs, including the Early ACCES Program;

·         Knowledge of preparation and administration of grant applications;

·         Knowledge of budgets

·         Knowledge of Medicaid rules and oral health and medical procedures;

·         Knowledge of counseling and teaching techniques;

·         Knowledge of procurement, maintenance and operation of appropriate medical equipment;

·         Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and procedures of public health;

·         Knowledge of the attitudes and problems of the poor, women, infants, children, disadvantaged, culturally deprived and of local resources to alleviate these problems. 

·         Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.

·         Works with minimal supervision and demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail

·         Proficiency reading, writing and speaking the English language.

 

Education:

·         Bachelor of Science in Health Education, Health Promotion or related field required.    Professional experience in public health field.

·         No less than 2 years experience in the Maternal and Child Health field
