Child Care Central
The purpose of MICA’s Child Care Central (CCC) program is to provide training, home consultation, and child care nurse consultant services to Department of Human Services registered and nonregistered/exempt child care providers in Marshall and Hardin Counties in order to provide safe and secure child care environments for all children.

CCC also strives to increase parent and community knowledge of and demand for quality child care/early learning environments through education on the aspects of quality child care.

Services for Child Care Providers

In many communities, the demand for child care far exceeds supply, and high provider turnover creates a constant need for new providers, especially those willing to provide high-quality care to young children.  Quality child care is a first step to school success. Studies show that children who participate in quality child care enter school with better math, language, and social skills.

In coordination with Region 4 Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R), CCC offers an entry point to those interested in the child care field and helps current providers continue growth in the field. CCC provides:

Education and training to support professional and personal growth.
Free access to the Child Care Lending Library.
Assistance with issues related to your child care business.
Childcare providers leave long-lasting impressions on the children in their care. CCC strives to develop in providers the skills necessary to teach children to:
  • Foster a positive image.
  • Develop social skills.
  • Encourage thinking, reasoning, questioning, and learning.
  • Enhance language development.
  • Demonstrate proper health, safety, and nutritional practices.
  • Teach respect for cultural diversity.
Services for Parents and Community

CCC works with parents and the community through advocacy and coordination of available services to increase the capacity and quality of child care.
